Testimonials

  • “Here at Aeralife Watergardens, we have been very fortunate to be a part of the Cerulean Space Art Therapy Program. We have trialled it in mainstream and our dementia support unit. The benefit to our residents is extensive; the program provides sensory stimulation, opportunities for social connections, a sense of overall wellbeing, and accomplishment. Sessions provide opportunities for participants to reminisce amongst themselves, and we have seen an improvement in self-esteem, motor skills, and mood enhancement.”

  • “Kanling has both confidence and warmth in her approach to working with young people, which helped our students feel comfortable in being vulnerable to step into a reflective creative space and share with each other on our inaugural Year 10 Health Day. We’d love to have Kanling involved in possible future projects at the College. Thanks Kanling!”

  • “For this year’s end of year event, the University of Newcastle’s Cyber & Digital Governance team decided to do art therapy with Cerulean Space instead of going out for dinner or having a party. Kanling took the team through an exercise in mindfulness, followed by a mandala drawing. The session was well organised, catered to staff who were online and attending in person, and enough time was provided for each staff member to explore art therapy at their own pace. Highly recommend Cerulean Space for workplaces, as the impact of high stress work and large workloads can go unnoticed, and art therapy has both a preventative and remedial effect on mental health.”

  • “I had the opportunity to participate in a corporate art therapy session hosted by Kanling in October. During the session, she guided us to assess our current state of wellbeing and creativity. The art therapy session was a good opportunity to step back from work, take some time to reground and be creative. In the hustle and bustle of corporate work and day to day life, it is easy to let it all overshadow our creative outlets. This session
allowed us to reconnect with our coworkers and ourselves in a meaningful way. One highlight of the session was an interactive group painting activity where we traded our canvases with each other and added onto each artwork to create a final collaboration. This activity allowed us to collaborate with each other and encouraged us to let go of control in a low stakes manner. Overall, the session was relaxing and allowed us to review the areas we let creativity into our lives.”

  • “The Canberra Innovation Network’s co-working space is full of entrepreneurs working hard on their startups, often so focused on their business they forget to take care of themselves. We were delighted to have Kanling from Cerulean Space run a lunchtime art therapy session for our members. Kanling made everyone feel comfortable and welcome, reassuring us that no artistic skill was required. Though only a one-hour session, it was enough time for everyone to relax, create, and to “be in the present”, with Kanling’s gentle direction. The response was very positive, with many asking when the next session would be! We would certainly recommend Cerulean Space to other teams, particularly those working in high-pressure industries where taking a bit of time to be present and create should be a higher priority”

  • “The session with Kanling reminded us all how refreshing it can be to focus the mind on something creative, even for a short time. Switching to art activates a different part of the brain and helps regulate the nervous system … I’m still enjoying working on my mandala, it has become an activity that I am making moments for.”

  • “We engaged Cerulean Space to give a group of executives a different creative experience. We wanted to step away from our corporate mindsets to be more mindful and centred, and Kanling certainly helped us to do that. It was a refreshing change from the typical corporate team building exercises, and the group really enjoyed the opportunity to engage in a different way. The time flew by, and it was a very calming and thoughtful experience. Highly recommended!”
